Straight Line Stitch Are In This Fight For The Long Haul
When I think of bands that roll up their collective sleeves and get in this pit we call the music industry, near the top of that list is Knoxville based, Straight Line Stitch. So it came as no surprise when they chose to title their epic new album, The Fight of Our Lives.
While other bands have given up, or worn down, the members of Straight Line Stitch just keep jumping back in the pit for me, and they do it with an integrity, passion and humbleness one rarely sees these days. No fan is unworthy of their time and a smile. And when they say “we are only here because of you,” they aren’t paying lip service to the crowd. As Lex said from the stage last night under glowing stage lights. “Let’s not get this twisted, YOU are the rock stars!”
That commitment to their fans and their music is paying off. The Fight of Our Lives is their most impressive work so far, and record sales show that fans love the direction the band is headed. The addition of guitarist Kris Norris has added even more energy to Straight Line Stitch, who are already eager to begin writing new material with him in the band.
This month the band finished filming their second video from the album for the track “One Reason” and it likely won’t be the last from this record. From top to bottom The Fight of Our Lives is packed with raw power, emotion, and melody. You can read Metalholic’s review of the album here.
Prior to the album’s release I had an opportunity to catch up with vocalist Alexis Brown to talk about the new album and what fans could expect. This week I sat down with she and bassist Jason White and talked more about the record, their current run on Revolver’s Hottest Women in Hard Rock tour, and much more.
